Ingredients
Scones
  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp all spice
  • 1/4 tsp cloves
  • 1/2 cup cold butter cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream plus 2 Tbsp for brushing
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • splash of milk
Instructions
Scones
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, all spice, nutmeg, and cloves together.
  3. With a pastry cutter, mix in cold butter pieces until the mixture resembles coarse crumbles (butter pieces should now be about the size of peas).
  4. Mix in pumpkin, egg, and heavy cream until combined.
  5. Add in chocolate chips and mix.
  6. Turn out onto a floured surface and form dough into a 9" circle. Cut into 8 triangles.
  7. Brush the tops with heavy cream and bake for 15-16 minutes, or until golden brown.
Glaze
  1. While the scones are baking, mix powdered sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. If the glaze seems too thick, add in a splash of milk. If it seems to thin, add in a little more powdered sugar.
  2. Pour over warm scones.
  3. Enjoy!
