  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp all spice
Caramel Sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • pinch of salt
  • dash of vanilla
Apple Filling
  • 2 cups sliced apples
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  1. Preheat oven to 350 and line an 8x11 baking pan with foil.
  2. For the crust, beat together brown sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Add in oats; mix. Add in flour; mix. Add in cinnamon, nutmeg, all spice, and baking soda; mix until combined. Set aside 1 cup for the topping.
  3. For the caramel, in a small saucepan over medium heat, mix all ingredients together, continually stirring the ingredients until they come to a boil. Pull off heat and set aside.
  4. In a mixing bowl, mix apples, brown sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon. Pour caramel sauce over apple mix and stir until everything is coated. Allow to sit for a couple of minutes.
  5. Press the crust mix in an even layer into the bottom of the pan. Pour apple mixture over the crust. Sprinkle the remaining crust mix over the apple layer.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool entirely before slicing (it's just easier).
  8. Enjoy!
