Line a 9x9 baking dish or a 9x13 baking dish with parchment paper.* Set aside.

In a large pot or saucepan over medium-low heat, melt butter.

Once melted, add in 5 1/2 cups of mini marshmallows (1 entire 10oz bag), and stir over med-low heat until just melted and smooth. Remove from the heat.

Add in the vanilla extract and mix together.

Finally, add in the rice cereal, lucky charms cereal, and remaming 1 1/2 cups of mini marshmallows (about 1/3 of a 10oz bag). Mix until combined.

Gently press the rice krisipie treats with lucky charms into your prepared baking dish into an even layer.**

Pro Tip: Wet your hands or a rubber spatula with warm water and then press the rice krispie treats into the pan. This prevents the treats from sticking to your hands (or spatula).

If desired, press the remaining 1/4 cup of lucky charms marshmallows into the top of the bars.

Allow the treats to set before cutting them into bars. You can leave them at room temperature or refrigerate them.
